Citizens of Sherburne made repeat visits to their county commission meetings beginning in early 2022. By mid 2022 it was clear the county would not offer a public hearing and only did one meeting with the group asking questions. On August 2, 2022, one citizen was removed from the podium, a violation of 1st Amendment rights. Fortunately, for the county, a Deputy Sheriff heard her concerns and brought her back into the board room to complete her remarks, only for the mic to be cut once again.

Baldwin and Haven Townships both passed resolutions to the effect of hand counting ballots and hand tallying votes alongside the machine/tabulator counts and tallies in the August 9, 2022 primary and November 2022 midterms, but stepped back when pressure came down from the Sherburne County Auditor and Attorney.

These same groups of citizens also held a rally on May 3, 2022 outside the government center protesting Dominion voting machines and software.
