What were the totals in each race prior to those ballots arriving? Will a recount provide that information?

4 races will require recounts in Anoka County, but what will recounts achieve?

The Guard the Ballot initiative led three Anoka residents and voters to observe the absentee ballot process on election night in Anoka County until 1:30am. The Elections Manager was happy they were there to watch after recent questions asked of the department.

A new law meant that ballots could arrive after 3pm.

More than 640 did.

From the post office and from in-person drop off at the County.

With now 4 races that require recounts in the county, could it be that those late-arriving ballots changed the outcomes of the races?

What were the totals in each race prior to those ballots arriving?

Not far away, in Sherburne County, a city council race flipped when ballots were found late.

Many believe it is not possible to know the tallies, however the electronic tabulators, some which malfunctioned in other counties on election day, have an active cell-phone modem and the electronic poll pads have an internet connection, usually over wifi. These two entry points could give anyone with remote or direct access through data syncs to real-time tallies.

Do recounts reveal fraud or simply count the votes which have already been counted? What is missing from a recount?

Meanwhile, the Anoka County Certification meeting, also known as the County Canvassing Board, meets publicly at 2pm, Nov 13, at the Anoka County Government Center. Will they accept requests from 7 cities to include an additional 17 precincts in the Post Election Review (PER) hand count audit?

The PER is a very limited audit, simply hand counting ballots (in person, early, and mail-in), but the Certification Board has option to order that additional precincts and down ballot races be audited.
